WE ARE NOT ABLE TO OFFER REHOMING PLACEMENT FOR PERSONAL PETS AT THIS TIME.

Krazy for Kats is a VERY SMALL adoption group and the work we do consists of rescuing stray, injured and feral cats/kittens living on the streets. While we would love to help everyone in the community, please understand that if we take it your current pet, which already has a home, that means there is one less space at the Kat House for the rescue work that we provide.

Having a pet is a lifetime responsibility. Please be kind to your personal pets and senior animals!

The animal shelters are overfull with cats!

If you surrender your pet without using their REHOMING SERVICE they will have no choice but to put older cats, sick cats and kittens under 2 months down within 5 days if they are not tame or highly adoptable.

OPTIONS TO REHOME YOUR PET:

LAanimalservices.home-home.org will give City of Los Angeles residents who can no longer keep their pets the opportunity to find new, loving homes without having to surrender them to the shelter. Pets can go from one home right into another, which means less stress for animals and humans alike. In addition, this offers potential new owners the opportunity to communicate directly with the current owners, providing firsthand information about the animals. Animals in need of new homes are searchable on this website and posted to the L.A. Animal Services Home To Home™ Facebook page.
To Rehome Your Pet - Animal Care and Control (lacounty.gov). LA County Animal Shelters provide valuable information for rehoming and website links for assistance.
Contact the “larger” cat groups in your specific area as they do adoptions at the Pet Stores on the weekends. Make sure they are a “REAL” rescue with legitimate non-profit credentials. These groups have multiple cat foster homes that could be open to taking your kitty. Your best bet is to go to your closest Petco/Petsmart on the weekend and find out which rescue groups are there and how to get kitties adopted through their programs. Go in person to talk to the group leader directly and ask for guidance.
Contact breed rescue groups if you’re trying to place a specific breed. If you have a pug or a Persian cat, for example, there might be rescue groups or clubs that have lists of people looking to adopt that particular breed. Some breed rescue groups might even be willing to place a mix, as long as the animal is close to purebred.
Kitten Rescue is the largest group in L.A. at www.kittenrescue.org or Cats at the Studios www.catsatthestudios.com. You can also contact Best Friends Animal Society at www.NKLA.org to find out which groups are also affiliated with them or your closest vet and see if they can give you some more contacts. If you offer up front to be a “community” foster for a rescue group and bring your kitty to adoption events they are more open to helping you and will take care of the medical needs. Also, please offer a donation to the cat group that assists you as rescue work is run by volunteers only, and it is very costly to care for these homeless felines.
Do not tell a rescue group you will dump them at the shelter if they do not help. Trust me, we hear this all the time and can only do so much with the millions of homeless cats in L.A!

You may want to contact the National Rescue Group called the AMANDA FOUNDATION for re-homing your own pet. Go to Rehome Gallery to list your pet for FREE on their website. More wonderful rehoming programs are The Rescue Train and Adopt A Pet.
Use any and all of your community contacts. Ask friends and family to mention the animal in their social groups; send an email about the pet through your office memo system; post a notice and photo on your social media groups, Facebook, Adopt A Pet, NextDoor etc.; or share some flyers with members of clubs or associations to which you belong. Don't underestimate the word of mouth. Ask friends, family, and acquaintances for help. Tell them that if you can find a foster home, the cats have a chance of being adopted. Be sure to include good photos.

This is where the “B Class Animal Dealers” look to find pets to sell them to medical labs, dog fighting rings or picked them up to be used in cult rituals. We are not joking with this statement! That's where the unfortunate "free" animals go.
